The most impressive specimen of any breed on the farm! Big Mama is a littermate to the grand overall at the 2019 Utah State Fair. Her first litter produced “Bell” the $9,000 Champion gilt at the 2021 Southwest Type Conference in Belton Texas.

8 Ball

PEDIGREE: 8 Ball X Born Ready X Super 8
The solid black sow we refer to by her sire's name, "8 Ball" is in our opinion the best definition of foundation female, and no matter how many high selling boars, champion barrows and gilts we will ever sell, she may forever be our favorite individual ever raised here. "8 Ball" produced Mama's Calling at Hi Point Genetics, as well as a boar we called The Dark Side.

Lead Off 92-10

PEDIGREE: Lead Off X Missing Link’s littermate
Purchased from RW Genetics. She is the mother of Concencus 109 which is the sire of Skull Candy at Premium Blend Genetics. She is also the mother of Black Friday, and the grandmother of the Reserve Champion Duroc Gilt 2020 Aksarben, 3rd Overall Weanling Gilt 2020 Fall Classic, and 5th Overall Duroc Gilt and Sale Qualifier 2021 Oklahoma Youth Expo that Flatland Showpigs raised.

Little Neon

PEDIGREE: Neon Lights X Batman
Purchased privately as a weanling gilt from Keith Kuecker. This sow is mostly notably known by our local customers here in Utah for the list of county fair champions as well as the Champion over all barrow at the 2016 Utah State Junior Livestock Show.

Ruby

PEDIGREE: No Rules X He's the One 59-10
Ruby, or better known as "Skull Candy's mother", was bred by Beyers and out of Brett's best female, the mother of Master Plan at Lairds, Draft Pick at Shipleys, and Bomb Shell at SGI. The 59-10 sow is also a littermate to Lane Rinderer's 2017 WPX Reserve Overall and Crosby Jackman's 3rd overall barrow! Ruby started her time off with a bang - her first litter generated the Grand overall at the Utah State Fair - that female and her sister are now hard at work carrying on the legacy of their mother. Her second litter produced the $17,000 Skull Candy, and her third and final litter produced Mama Tried. Three litters is all we got unfortunately, but it was more than enough to solidify herself as one of the greats!

PEDIGREE: Josey Wales X Sweet Emotion
94 is the best female we've ever been privileged to work with. In spring 2019 we toured RW Genetics along with a few other prominent breeders. While we were there, we were introduced to the 94 litter. Standing in the keeper pens out of that litter was a herd boar called Unforgiven, a female that Rick said was the most impressive he had EVER raised (her bone and center body dimension was out of this world), and a gilt that we felt combined look, balance, hind leg, and toe quality to the absolute highest degree! We talked him out of his second favorite of the pair of gilts and the day Rick loaded her on our trailer he said, "That is the best individual you guys have ever gotten from RW." Pretty big words! To date she is the mother of Checklist, Quiet Place, Money Heist (at Triple B Sires), Take Note, and Young Gun. Her crop of daughters is phenomenal too! Every daughter thus far has farrowed with no issues, big litters weaned - plus, hands down the best pigs in each age group are always the 94 descendants. An added bonus to the 94 lineage: birth weights! Her pigs at birth have always been well below average regardless of sire, and her sons have proven to be our go to gilt-litter sires too for that same reason!

Hillbilly Cadillac 59-86

PEDIGREE: Hillbilly Cadillac X 8 Ball X Batman
The high selling and very accomplished sow purchased from RW Genetics. In her first 3 litters while still in Texas she raised RW Thug at Chuck and Ben Olsen's, Texas Thug at Triple B Sires, and Power Wagon at RWG. Her first litter here at Galt Farms then produced the $30,000 I Believe at Hi Point Genetics, and his littermate Power Ball. She also produced the $15,000 off the farm purchase by Crossroads Genetics: No Discussion. In addition 59-86 produced Chasin' Dreams, and then our very popular 2017 Duncan Fall Classic entry sold to Kelso and Sons. Not to mention, she is also the mother of "Nikki."

Nikki

PEDIGREE: Franchise X Hillbilly Cadillac 59-86
It didn’t take long for Nikki to solidify herself as "big time" "a boar maker" "building block" what ever you call the most elite you've got; that's Nikki! She was the most impressive individual out of 59-86 and her lineage continues to generate. Nikki's most well known accomplishment was the very popular $10,500 Fire Away sold to Duelms Prevailing Genetics at the 2018 Southwest Type Conference in Belton Texas. Her daughters and granddaughters now carry the torch and her influence is enormous throughout our herd

Shameless Nikki

PEDIGREE: (Shameless X Nikki X Franchise X Hillbilly Cadillac 59-86))
This Shameless female was the most impressive 50 lb pig we had ever raised and we had serious talks about feeding her for World Pork Expo; lucky for us though we decided she needed to stay home and be bred. Her first litter out of Exchange Rate produced the most impressive keeper gilt we retained out of our 2019 pig crop. Her next litter produced Salt Lake, the boar we sold in the NSR Draft to Shipley Swine Genetics as well as Bear Lake we retained here at Galt Farms. With her 3rd litter now on feed plus four daughters who have now farrowed that are going to be key contributors too, there is no doubt Shameless Nikki is destined for a long run of great things.
