Introducing Pay AttentionIn our opinion this one has a chance at cutting a wide swath for a multitude of reasons! Along with having the stoutness, mass, hip/rear leg, and profile look it takes to win big ring banners he’s got maternal sow power packed for generations! His mother is truly an elite sow and brings some fresh air genetically. She is sired by the late great RW Genetics boar, “Buckwheat” which was a Full Strut X Solid Monster. Buckwheat was an absolute creature of a boar but sired maternal traits like no other and Pay Attention’s mother is as strong maternally as anything that we’ve worked with! Pay Attention’s grandmother is the Josey Wales X Sweet Emotion (Sugar Daddy X Hillbilly Bone) that we call “94” and she is literally the mother, grandmother, or great grandmother of every cross female we’ve got working on the farm! She is also the grandmother of Checked Out at Southern Gold Sires as well as Elevate at Shaffer’s. And let’s not forget Pay Out… Bill allowed us to partner of this elite Steve Cobb & Family boar in the summer of 2022 and it has changed the trajectory of our program! Introducing First BreathThe high seller from Moyer’s January sale! FIRST BREATH BLEW US AWAY as a baby pig and we had to own him. We’ve watched the Breath Taker deal very closely and I can tell you with absolute confidence after going to Moyer’s and seeing the set of them that if there’s a boar worth $400,000 it’s him, and this one takes it to another level. The fact that his mother is a littermate to Back Slap (sire of the highly influential Absolute at Heimers among many others) was the icing on the cake for us. If you haven’t heard about the quality of pigs that Back Slap made then here’s a quick synopsis - he was one of the top sires we’ve seen in the last five years and generated for all sorts of influential firms, making sons that are making an impact and winners at all levels including the Reserve Grand gilt at NAILE, champion at LSU, and the champion cross at the Buckeye Show Circuit. Tying into not only Breath Taker but also Back Slap’s sister makes First Breath a no-brainer and raises our confidence level that he will sire winners but also breeding stock that will breed on…Phenotypically, For those of you looking for a shot of look, muscle, and bone, here you go!
